Fashion label Mulberry is to enter into the
world of fancy footwear, it has emerged.
Known for its chic range of
must-have bags carried on the arms of the jet-set and fashion elite, the English
fashion label is trying its hand at producing desirable footwear for
women.
Mulberry is employing the skills of fashion designer Jonathan
Kelsey - cousin of former creative director at Mulberry Stuart Vevers - to
produce the fashion footwear line.
This news is likely to excite those
women who adorn their feet with top-notch shoes from the likes of Jimmy Choo and
Manolo Blahnik.
A spokesperson told Catwalk Queen: "We are currently
committed to autumn 2008 and spring 2009 and if this goes well, we'd like to
further develop footwear in the future."
The range is expected to be
available to women with an insatiable appetite for fancy footwear in
autumn.
Kelsey was highlighted as a rising star of the fashion world in
November by the Observer, noting his nickname, the British
Laboutin.
