Hairstyles cause women to 'drive dangerously' |
|
Hairstyles have been blamed as one reason why women may drive dangerously, according to new research.
According to Sheila's Wheels, 67 per cent of women currently have a hairstyle that can fall into their eyes while driving.
A total of 190,000 women have had an accident, a near miss or have made a sudden manoeuvre due to their hairstyle limiting vision when behind the wheel.
In fact, 9.5 million women stated that they do not consider visibility when driving while having their haircut into a new style.
Hairdresser to the stars Martyn Maxey commented that fashion trends and celebrities can dictate hairstyles.
"For some celebrities, a change of hairstyle is headline news. Take Kate Moss and the fringe for example - in recent weeks we've been inundated with requests for the long fringe and despite it falling over the eyes, it's now a fashion statement and people want it," he said.
In celebrity news this week, Amy Winehouse has chopped off her famous beehive and dyed her locks bleach blonde.
