Pop star Lily Allen has turned down offers to
produce a line of maternity fashion clothing, possibly for high street fashion
stores.
The songstress, 22, recently announced that she is pregnant with
Chemical Brothers member Ed Simmons after only dating a couple of
months.
She told BBC Radio 5 Live that offering a maternity fashion range
to a younger audience would not be appropriate.
"My demographic is
generally young girls. I don't think a maternity line is particularly suitable,"
she told the show.
It seems that the singer received "quite a lot of
offers" for her own fashion range for pregnant women, perhaps following her
success with fashion chain New Look earlier this year.
This previous
dabble in the world of fashion saw Allen producing among other things, a number
of prom-style dresses for young women.
The daughter of Keith Allen, Lily
hit the charts with her first album Alright Still in 2006 and had hit singles
with Smile and LDN.
