 Canadian pop singer Avril Lavigne is to launch
her own perfume and join the host of celebrities who already have their own
fragrance out in the shops.
Lavigne, who hit the big time in 2002 with
her top ten singles Sk8er Boi and Complicated, is thought to be creating a range
of beauty products as well as a celebrity perfume.

Perez Hilton said the star had filed for a patent in the US for products such as
"perfumery, after shave, bath oil, bath soap, shower gel, body shampoo" and
"body lotion".
Lavigne's perfume would be competing with fragrances from
Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and songstress Christina Aguilera.
In the
run-up to Christmas, Wag Coleen McLoughlin was named as having the best-selling
celebrity perfume in the UK.
Wayne Rooney's fiance outsold scents offered
by her fellow celebrities with around 500,000 bottles being snapped up by
fans.
